Ester Chuoong
Parish Secretary

The duties of a Parish Secretary at Church of the Risen Christ are varied, and covering the role with gusto is Ester Chuoong. Multi-tasking as administrator and receptionist, she is a focal point whenever anyone contacts or requires the Church to perform a service. Ester records mass intentions, updates the Sacristan on funeral masses and maintains various registers and service request forms. She also keeps track of keys to the many rooms and notice boards in the church.

Geoffrey Abraham Elijah
Sacristan

The responsibility of preparing the necessary items required for each mass falls on Geoffrey, our church sacristan. His duties include preparing the vestments for priest & alter boys and charcoal fire for burning of incense. He ensures lightings, air-conditioning, liturgical readings are in order and stocks of wine and host adequate. A convert, Geoffrey was offered the post of sacristan 3 years ago by the parish priest then, Fr Francis Lee. Interestingly, the offer came at a time when Geoffrey was looking for an opportunity to do church work. Since then, he performs his duties with the calm knowledge that he is doing God’s will.

John Smith
Maintenance Manager

John is responsible for general maintenance of the Adoration Room and the building extension at the rear of the Church. Saturday afternoon sees him directing traffic in the church compound, as busy parents drop off their kids for catechism classes. He also helps church groups to set up and rectify any problems with audiovisual equipments. Be it a need to replace a broken bulb or to move old furniture, our ‘handyman’ John provides essential day-to-day maintenance, of which the condition of our Church would deteriorate, if no such services were rendered.
