Bringing Comfort to the Elderly Sick

This year, the parish organised its annual Mass for the Sick on 12 September to take advantage of the long weekend. Four Redemptorist priests concelebrated the mass for over 250 sick and elderly, including 21 on wheelchairs. Some of them were from other parishes.
Members from the various parish ministries were on hand to help with the logistics. Unfortunately we had only one lift and it was a quite a challenge to get the wheelchairs up to the second level for the mass, and down again after the mass had ended. But everyone took things in their stride. After so many years of organising the event, most of our helpers knew exactly what to do, and, aside from the lift issue, everything else went on smoothly.
"It is good that the church organises the Mass for the Sick every year. I am over seventy and don't have any serious illness but I still come for the anointing," said Mdm Alice Wong, 78.
And we continue to pray for the sick members of our parish, especially those who are bedridden, wheelchair bound and those suffering from chronic ailments.
