“Christmas Jubilee” was a Christmas pageant dedicated to our country’s 50 years of nation building. It was held before the 12.00am mass on Christmas Day. This performance was done in collaboration with the Risen Christ Tamil Choir. Our choral director had specially selected the tunes of 8 all-time Singaporean favourite songs and rearranged them into a tribute medley with original Christmas lyrics. Examples of some of the favourites are Corrine May’s Bless Our Singapore, Geylang Sipaku Geylang and 小人物的⼼声. The songs were sung in the 4 national languages. The pageant also brought forth to the congregation a reflective message of not forgetting the disadvantaged in our midst despite our nation’s growth, especially during the Christmas season. The performance then continued with a variety of songs like “The Star of Bethlehem” , “When a Child is Born” and Boney M’s rendition of “Mary’s Boy Child”. This event concluded with a light-hearted dance to the tune of the signature Eurasian song “Jinkly Nona” with the choir’s very own original Christmas lyrics. After the performance, the Christmas midnight mass was celebrated with the choir singing hymns in our 4 national languages.

“Christmas Jubilee” was presented by Shalom Choir, our 9:45am Sunday Mass Choir.
