Visit to the Immigration Detention Centre (IDC), Bangkok, Thailand
The Parish Mission Team visited the Immigration Detention Centre (IDC) in Bangkok, where illegal immigrants - asylum seekers, urban refugees, are detained.

The visit is a follow up of Project URGE which raised funds in support of the services by Jesuit Foundation at the IDC.
We were fortunate to visit and talk to the detainees of various nationalities.
We were touched by the Nigerian detainees who sing praise and worship to Jesus every night.
They wrote their devotion to Jesus on the walls of their cells.

The living conditions were very crowded, hot and humid, yet their faith and devotion to God never left them.
It was also Family Day for the Uyghur detainees and their families.
We witnessed the distribution of supplementary food and drinks by the Jesuit Foundation staff and other NGOs.
