Indian Catholic Movement

The Indian Catholic Movement (ICM) was formed to cater to the needs of the Tamil Speaking Community in our Parish and to foster a spiritual formation amongst the Indian Community.

Role of Ministry
Being part of the ICM is the Risen Christ Tamil Choir and the AV Team. With the support of the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM), which falls under the wings of the Risen Christ Youth Council, the four groups work alongside

- to oversee the logistics and liturgical celebrations of the monthly Tamil Mass
- to celebrate its main event of the Feast of Our Lady of Velankanni in September
- to organise rosary devotions during the month of May and October
- to cater to canteen duties about five times a year
- to deepen faith formation through recollections/retreat, bible sharing, social outings, etc

The ICM is also closely associated with the ‘Commission for the Apostolate of Tamil-Speaking’ (CATS) which represents the Tamil-speaking Apostolate in the Archdiocese of Singapore.

Who can join
Any Indian Catholic who would like to be part in any of the four groups (ICM, Tamil Choir, AV Team or ICYM) or be of assistance on an ad-hoc basis primarily giving support in the canteen duties and during the Velankanni Feast.
