On Monday, 1st May 2006, the parish community of Church of the Risen Christ honoured the Marian month of May and the revered Saint Joseph with a mass celebration at 7pm & a candlelight procession in the church compound.
At the start of the mass, Father John Sim reflected on the devotion of the Catholic Church for Our Lady and Saint Joseph.
He also emphasized the role of the Holy Family in shaping the values and faith of Catholic families. In his homily, Father John Sim expressed his hope that Christians will cherish the virtue of humility.
"God will reward those who are humble", he said.

After the Holy Communion, the priests, altars boys and the various church group representatives with their respective banners, gathered behind the cross-bearers and Statute of Our Lady of Fatima.
The congregation then gathered behind the representatives of the church organisations.
With the statute of our Lady of Fatima at the front, the procession started to move towards the main entrance of the church and continued outside it. It was already dark, and the weather was rainy & cool. The participants then lighted their candles. Everyone was in a cheerful mood despite the raindrops that some say were showers of blessings.

the finale. |
The congregation recited the rosary in English, Mandarin and Tamil.
Hymns for the evening were also sung in these three languages, backed by the choirs of the 3 communities (i.e., the English-speaking, Mandarin-speaking & Tamil choir).
Braving the drizzle, the procession slowly walked round the church twice. At the end of the recitation of the rosary, all the participants gathered at the grotto.
Father John Sim said the final blessings. The concluding hymn was sung marking the end of the celebration and thanking the Lord for this great day.
