This year's Easter Mass saw Archbishop Nicholas Chia speaking about the transformation of the human heart and spirit, which is made possible by Jesus' death and resurrection.
He called about the congregation to open their hearts to God's Grace, just as the British soldiers did in the movie "Bridge Over the River Kwai".
Two soldiers encouraged the others to read the bible as a group. Gradually, their behaviour toward one another began to change. They began to trust and care for one another, working together to build the bridge. His Grace said that we can also experience a transformation by allowing God to touch us in a profound way. That Easter is a "Glorious Feast that tells us that we will not be bound by death so long as we believe in Jesus".
And with this conviction, "we can love again if our love was rejected, and to remain hopeful through Jesus".
In keeping with tradition, the parish celebrated its Feast Day over lunch at the Royal Hotel. Attended by the various church groups and their families, this year's celebrations were quite special.
His Grace celebrated his birthday, which fell on the same day, with the attendees. The organisers also presented a photo montage of the past year's key events.
Entertainment programmes included Mongolian, Indian and Line Dance performances, sing-a-long sessions and lucky draws.
