‘Have a Nice Day’, an event for the youth of our parish, was organized by the Youth Council, a newly formed ministry on the 20th of June 2008. The event brought together the youth of our parish for an afternoon of fellowship and to spend some time with God, away from the hustle and bustle of every day life.
The day started off with mandatory icebreaker games. Lester Wan then gave a sharing on his recent trip to Malaysia with the Jesuit Refugee Service, where he spent some time getting to know the Burmese refugees and their plight better.
It aimed to raise awareness of their situation, many of whom have been tortured and have been forced to leave their country through no fault of theirs. The youth then attended Mass in the evening, and were treated to dinner after that.
In the evening, Brother Michael Broughton gave a talk entitled ‘Who is God’. To end of the activities of the day, Eternal Dawn led a short praise and worship session.
