Sec 2 Camp 2008
14th to 15th June 2008
The retreat for the Secondary 2 Confirmation students of our parish was conducted
by the Catechetical ministry from the 14th to 15 June 2008 at the St Teresa’s
Church retreat center. The annual retreat which has been held annually since 2006,
aims to give the confirmants an idea of what confirmation camp next year would be
like, to allow them to experience God and also to get to know more of their fellow
confirmants and youth from our parish, many of whom served in various roles throughout
the camp.

BISHAN EAST INTER-RELIGIOUS
AND RACIAL CONFIDENCE CIRCLE (IRCC)
Parishioners of Risen Christ played host to 120 visitors to the church on 23 February
2008, who were on an educational heritage tour organised by the Bishan East Inter-Religious
and Racial Confidence Circle (IRCC). Risen Christ was one of four destinations in
the outing that aimed to promote better understanding and harmony among Bishan East
residents of the different religions, races and languages. Read

Christmas 2007 at Risen Christ

Risen Christ parishioners not only gathered knowing that Christ is the reason for
the season of Christmas, but also experienced it for themselves. This was possible
thanks to two choirs which presented their own gifts to the infant Jesus, through

The Divine Mercy Devotion Group of the Church of the Risen Christ has recently been
honoured by the visit of the relic of St. Faustina. She is known as the secretary
of the Divine Mercy. The relic was venerated after the evening mass last 6 November

Parish Assembly 2007

The Parish Assembly is a once-a-year gathering to look into pastoral concerns of
the Church of the Risen Christ. This year's Parish Assembly was held on 18 November
2007 from 1.30pm to 5.00pm . It was attended by some 100 parishioners. Most of the

Lay Apostolate’s Celebration 2007

Fortunate Restaurant was packed to capacity with approximately 700 members from
the different lay ministries gathered together to celebrate the mission of the Lay
Apostolate. The theme for the Lay Apostolate celebration was in line with the parish

This year's Easter Mass saw Archbishop Nicholas Chia speaking about the transformation
of the human heart and spirit, which is made possible by Jesus' death and resurrection.
He called about the congregation to open their hearts to God's Grace, just as the
British soldiers did in the movie "Bridge Over the River Kwai".

and old, from all walks of life. Father Victor Francis, from St. Francis Xavier
