Follow The Star
The birth of our Lord and Saviour had been prophesied by Isaiah who cried out “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you”. Christ as the radiant and life-sustaining light, the rising star whom we emulate and try to follow, our guide and teacher. He shows us how to maneuver through this complex earthly life. If we let Him, He can shine more brightly than any other star. He can illuminate the darkest and deepest labyrinth of our soul, and show us the way out of the pitfalls and temptations. We just need to be ready to follow this star, as did the wise men who never gave up, travelling over rough terrains and foreign lands, to find Jesus. They emerged renewed and transformed, having found Him, the wise men then departed for home “by another way”, a change of path symbolizing conversion. Similarly, we need to be ready to change our ways once we say we know Him and experience the light of Christ guiding us every part of the way.
