Let God’s Greatness Shine Through Our Weakness
Jesus was rejected in His native home. Jesus lives in us, therefore, have we always welcomed Him unconditionally? Or have we, been like the men during the Prophet Ezekiel’s time, as men who rebelled against God, were obstinate of heart? Ezekiel writes that God did not give up on them. So we could be confident that there is much hope for us too. In the New Testament, Jesus did not condemn the people in His hometown for rejecting Him, instead He gave them what they could comprehend and accept, the healing of the few who were sick. Many of us are rejected for the most unjust reasons, for our colour, race, disabilities, spirituality, profession, nationality, but if we could follow Jesus’ example, to respond with kindness, compassion and love, there is hope that through us, Jesus could touch someone’s heart. Could we aspire to be as humble as Jesus, could our faith be enough to enable us to trust God and to remain in our weakness, to live with the insults, discriminations, injustices, unfairness, and let God’s greatness shine through us, to believe that God can triumph.
