True Charity & Love
I know very few people who would give me more than what I asked for or needed. Yet, Jesus did just that. He fed 5000 strangers (that’s 4 times Risen Christ’s capacity when filled to the brim), when His disciples’ immediate thought was to send them away. We’d have probably done the same. God’s love for us is immeasurable. He continued to engage the people even after they began to turn against Him, although he tried to reach them, scold them (as a father would an errant child), prayed for them. There is no common sense to what Jesus did, how He then gave us His life, to make sure we could all enter the kingdom of God. That’s how much He loves us. Could we begin to try this true charity and love, to reach out to our brothers and sisters even if we may not know them so well, to know that God will be with us every step of the way, that our efforts would not be wasted. As St Paul said, “with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another through love”.
