First Holy Communion

Bright shiny faces, boys and girls in white. Children chimed to the question why they were dressed in white on this special day. Their eager replied, “To be bright”, “Purity”, “To receive the body of Christ” and of course, to do so, they wanted “To look nice”. All eager to receive Christ, who is our creator, our King, our best friend, our God. We all want to be blessed, for “Blessed are the pure in heart: they shall see God” (Matt 5:8). Fr John shared in his homily that as the parents and adults to the children in our community, it is our duty and our responsibility to bring them closer and closer to Jesus. No matter our difficulties or our challenges, our priority must be to encourage, inspire and to pray for and with our children. For the family that prays together, stays together.
