13 April 2014 ( Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion )

[Isaiah 50:4-7] [Philippians 2:6-11] [Matthew 26:14-27:66]

Today marks the beginning of Holy Week, Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion, time to celebrate the mysteries of salvation, Christ’s entry into Jerusalem, until his blessed Passion and glorious resurrection. The passage from suffering, death to life His way of showing obedience to God’s will. He surrendered Himself and accepted God’s plan with great humility and love, even knowing that He would suffer mental anguish and physical pain at a level way beyond our comprehension. In His suffering, Jesus showed us His faithful love for God and humanity. His suffering did not wipe out suffering from our lives, but it teaches us how to truly love, how to carry our daily cross. He taught us the supremacy of love, that it’s stronger than violence and any injustice. Do not be afraid to take up our cross. Do not fear, for as Jesus has shown us, no matter how low we may fall, it is but a prelude to moments of triumph and glory!
