Ask for the gift of spiritual wisdom

The three readings today all speak of wisdom. The first reading contains prophetic words of the evil plans of the godless ones to condemn the righteous one, Jesus, to a shameful death and to destroy Him. In planning their evil deeds, the godless ones applied human knowledge and understanding which cannot compete against the Wisdom of God.In the second reading, we learn that conflicts and disputes do not come from above but are the result of human thoughts. Human wisdom leads to sin whereas spiritual wisdom leads to holiness for it is pure and from above. The gospel reading shows the disciples unable to perceive what Jesus was teaching them about His death and resurrection because they lacked the spiritual wisdom. They argued with one another over who was the greatest among them out of their human wisdom.

“The wisdom of this world is foolishness to God.” (1 Corinthians 3:19) "

Let us therefore ask God for the gift of spiritual wisdom to perceive spiritual things.
