17 January 2016 ( Second Sunday in Ordinary Time )

[Isaiah 62:1-5] [1 Corinthians 12:4-11] [John 2:1-11]

Do Whatever He Tells You

Jesus transformed water into wine, something plain and ordinary into something colourful and sparkling. His timing is perfect in knowing what to give us for the right moment. He can turn our most simplest gift into something glorious. We see another significance in the gospel, the example of Mary’s intercession. She brings to Jesus’ attention our need and leads us to Jesus. She also reminds us to do whatever he tells us. Let us be confident in our prayers to Jesus or to Mother Mary asking her to intercede for us,

that God would see what we need, and never tire of transforming our humble gifts into something exceptional,

to transform all of us into one community with a common goal to worship our almighty God.

Even when we are not ready, we could pray for our hearts to be softened so that we could become involved in the community around us, to listen and

respond to the needs of the people. Let us be open for that hour of grace and allow ourselves to be transformed from ordinary water into wine.
