Go & Do Likewise

Love our neighbours with all our hearts and minds, and love them as ourselves. How close are we to doing this? Have we sidestepped as did the priest and the Levite, instead of embracing life as we could have, with compassion and love? Are we too busy saying what others should be doing to help the needy, the poor, the marginalized? We need to be moved by the suffering and need of others, and then do something constructive and effective about it.
There is news on suffering almost everyday, do we relate that to ourselves, as the one who ‘could have’ or ‘should have’ helped?
Do we take the time now to look at our neighbours more closely and really see their need for help?
Neighbours are defined not only by geographical distance but their need for love and care, for support and healing.
Go beyond your comfort zone and do an act of love to someone who does not really “deserve it” by worldly standards.
