Second Sunday of Easter - Divine Mercy Sunday

[Acts 4:32-35] [1 John 5:1-6] [John 20:19-31]

God gave Thomas the assurance he needed, just as God gives us the assurance that He loves and cares for us despite knowing how selfish and unfaithful we could become. How much more merciful do we need our God to be? Today we celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday, reminding us to fully trust in God’s mercy. The message St. Faustina passed to us is that God’s mercy is much greater than our sins, that we could call upon God with trust, receive His mercy so that we could let it flow through us to others around us. Let us pray to God constantly just as Jesus had done, for the strength and humility so that we can be more forgiving towards others, just as God is merciful and forgiving. Let’s act on our belief when we say we trust God. Make this trust come alive daily by entrusting our lives to God, allow Him to take control and let us our lives commit each day to Him. Let God be the author of our lives and let Him fill our days with grace as we strive to follow Him.
