30 April 2017 ( 3rd Sunday of Easter )

[Acts 2:14. 22-23] [1 Peter 1:17-21] [Luke 24:13-35]

The road to Emmaus corresponds with our journey to our heavenly abode with the Blessed Trinity and all the saints. Each day is an opportunity to enter deeply into the mystery of the Risen Christ. Jesus comes to meet us along the way to dispel all doom and gloom. We are never alone in our journey to the Father. Jesus comes to meet us pilgrims on the journey of faith where we are and wants to dwell with us in our homes. He patiently waits for us to recognize that he is there with us and wants us to respond to Him in faith and hope so that at the end of our lives we shall be raised and glorified with him according to our deeds. Our Lord wants us too to experience in Him Peter’s call in the Acts of the Apostles to conversion and penance where love, mercy and forgiveness prevail. Our Lord never forces himself on us and wants us to recognize him in his risen glory just as the disciples on the road to Emmaus did, may we always know that He is always there for us.
