Legion of Mary

It is a lay apostolic association of Catholics who, with the sanction of the Church and under the powerful leadership of Mary Immaculate, Mediatrix of All Graces, serve the Church and their neighbour on a voluntary basis. Founded in Dublin, Ireland by Servant of God Frank Duff in 1921, it has established branches in almost every country where the Catholic Church is.

The Legion of Mary officially began in Singapore on 5 December 1947. In 2018, Church of the Risen Christ has 7 English senior praesidia, 3 Mandarin senior praesidia, 1 Mandarin junior praesidium and 1 Malayalam senior praesidium.

Active members attend weekly meeting and are assigned work, e.g. apostolate in the parish, visitation of parishioners’ homes, visitation of hospitals, organized home rosary and contact work.
